PARK WEST GALLERY® AND THE PRINT CLUB of ALBANY

|
Over the past few years, the Print Club of Albany, a 200 member
organization established in 1933, has been the recipient of over 11,000 pieces of fine contemporary
artwork. This unique gift was made possible through the generosity of Albert Scaglione, CEO of
Park West Gallery®. The diverse collection includes lithographs, silkscreen prints
and etchings from some of the most notable artist's in contemporary art: Yaacov Agam, Marcel Mouly,
Victor Vasarely and Fanch Ledan to name a few.
Print clubs in America became increasingly popular in the years of the Great Depression as a way for
artists and art dealers to continue to sell art even while the majority of society could not afford
expensive oil paintings. These clubs were some of the first places to make art accessible to collectors
in an affordable way - on paper. It is in this spirit that Park West Gallery® has
charitably contributed to the history and vibrancy of such organizations.
To date, Albert Scaglione has donated over $40 million worth of artwork to institutions like the
Print Club of Albany and to several colleges and universities across the country.
